1. Dark are the clouds of sin and temptation,
Hov’ring above as we journey along;
When our glad spirits shall break into song,
But there at last will come a bright dawning,

Chorus:
After the shadows morning will great us;
After the journey, the comforts of Home;
With our blest Saviour glorious rapture!
After the shadows, the sun shine will come

2. After the long, dark midnight of sorrow,
Jesus will give us a wonderful peace.
Burdens will fall and trials will vanish,
We shall rejoice in eternal release

3. Oh, let us cling to Jesus our Saviour,
Loving Him always, for He is so true;
All will be well when dawns that bright morrow,
Skies now o’er cast will be radiant and blue
