\nThe sacred anthem slowly rang
\nAcross the fields of praise,
\nWhen earth’s first Sabbath made complete
\nAll creatures and all days.
\nWalking with God, there,
\nWoman and man together share
\nThe blessed Sabbath mood;
\nAnd in that green and golden world
\nKnow all God’s works are good.<\/p>\n

\nBut now in our diminished lives
\nWe sing a blemished song;
\nThe earth is worn and disarrayed
\nAnd all our work goes wrong.
\nStill in our worship,
\nJoining in praise and fellowship,
\nBy Sabbath radiance blessed,
