1. Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
\n\tWhat so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaning?
\n\tWhose broad stripes and bright stars, thro the perilous fight,
\n\tO’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly steaming?
\n\tAnd the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
\n\tGave proof thro’ the night our flag was still there.
\n\tOh, say, does that star-spangled Banner yet wave
\n\tO’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?<\/p>\n
\t2. On the shore, dimly seen thro’ mists of the deep,
\n\tWhere the foes’ haughty host in dread silence reposes,
\n\tWhat is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
\n\tAs it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
\n\tNow it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
\n\tIn full glory reflected now shines on the stream;
\n\t“Tis the star-spangled Banner, oh, long may it wave
\n\tO’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.<\/p>\n
\t3. And where is that band, who so vauntingly swore
\n\tThat the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
\n\tA home and a country should leave us no more?
\n\tTheir blood has watched out their foul footsteps’ pollution;
\n\tNo refuge could save the hireling and slave
\n\tFrom the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave;
\n\tAnd the star-spangled Banner triumph doth wave
\n\tO’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.<\/p>\n
\t4. Oh, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
\n\tBetween their loved homes and the war’s desolation;
\n\tBlest with victory and peace, may the Heaven rescued land
\n\tPraise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation
\n\tThen conquer we must, when our cause it is just;
\n\tAnd this be our motto: “In God is our trust!”
\n\tAnd the star-spangle Banner in triumph shall wave
