Hymn 291 THE MASTER HATH COME Lyrics<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
1. The Master hath come, and He calls us to follow,
\n\tThe tracks of the footprints He leaves on our way;
\n\tFar over the mountain and thro’ the deep hollow,
\n\tThe path leads us on to the mansions of day:
\n\tThe Master hath called us, the children who fear Him.
\n\tWho march ‘neath Christ’s banner, His own little band;
\n\tWe love Him and seek Him, we long to be near Him,
\n\tAnd rest in the light of His beautiful land.<\/p>\n
\t2. The Master hath called us; the road may be dreary
\n\tAnd dangers and sorrows are strewn on the track;
\n\tBut God’s Holy Spirit shall comfort the weary.
\n\tWe follow the Saviour, and cannot turn back;
\n\tThe Master hath called us: tho’ doubt and temptation
\n\tMay compass our journey, we cheerfully sing;
\n\t“Press onward, look upward,” Thro’ much tribulation;
\n\tThe children of Zion must follow their King.<\/p>\n
\t3. The Master hath called us, in life’s early morning
\n\tWith spirits as fresh as the dew on the sod;
\n\tWe tum from the world, with its smiles and its scoming.
\n\tTo cast in our lot with the people of God:
\n\tThe Master hath called us, His sons and His daughters,
\n\tWe plead for His blessing and trust in His love;
\n\tAnd thro’ the green. pastures, beside the still waters.
