1. Not worthy, Lord, to gather up the crumbs
\n\tWith trembling hand that from Thy table fall,
\n\tA weary, heavy-laden sinner comes To plead
\n\tThy promise and obey Thy call.<\/p>\n
\t2. I am not worthy to be thought Thy child,
\n\tNor sit the last and lowest at Thy board;
\n\tToo long a wanderer, and too oft beguiled
\n\tI only ask one reconciling word.<\/p>\n
\t3. I hear Thy voice: Thou bidst me come and rest.
\n\tI come, I kneel, I clasp Thy pierced feet;
\n\tThou bidst me take my place, a welcome guest,
\n\tAmong Thy saints, and of Thy banquet eat.<\/p>\n
\t4. My praise can only breathe itself in prayer,
\n\tMy prayer can only lose itself in Thee.
