1. The voice that breathed o’er Eden,
\n\tThat earliest wedding-day,
\n\tThe primal marriage blessing,
\n\tIt hath not passed away.<\/p>\n
\t2. Still in the pure espousal
\n\tOf Christian man and maid,
\n\tThe Holy Three are with us,
\n\tThe threefold grace is said.<\/p>\n
\t3. For dower of blessed children,
\n\tFor love and faith’s sweet sake,
\n\tFor high mysterious union
\n\tWhich nought on earth may break.<\/p>\n
\t4. Be present, heavenly Father,
\n\tTo give away this bride,
\n\tAs Eve thou gav’st to Adam
\n\tOut of His own pierced side.<\/p>\n
\t5. Be present, gracious Saviour,
\n\tTo join their living hands,
\n\tAs Thou didst band two natures
\n\tIn Thine eternal bands.<\/p>\n
\t6. Be present, Holy Spirit,
\n\tTo bless them as they kneel,
\n\tAs Thou for Christ the Bridegroom;
\n\tThe heavenly spouse dost seal.<\/p>\n
\t7. O spread Thy pure wings over them!
\n\tLet no ill power find place,
\n\tWhen onward through life’s journey
\n\tThe hallowed oath they trace.<\/p>\n
\t8. TO cast their crowns before Thee,
