1. Peace doubting heart! My God’s I am;
\n\tWho formed me man, forbids my fear,
\n\tThe Lord hath called me by my name,
\n\tThe Lord protects, forever near,
\n\tHis blood for me did once atone,
\n\tAnd still He loves and guards His own.<\/p>\n
\t2. When, passing through the watery deep,
\n\tI ask in faith His promised aid,
\n\tThe waves an awful distance keep,
\n\tAnd shrink from my devoted head;
\n\tFearless their violence I dare;
\n\tThey cannot harm, for God is there.<\/p>\n
\t3. To him mine eye of faith I turn.
\n\tAnd through the fire pursue my way;
\n\tThe fire forgets its pursue my way
\n\tThe lambent flames around me play;
\n\tI own His power, accept the sign
\n\tAnd shout to prove the Saviour mine.<\/p>\n
\t4. Still nigh me, O my Saviour, stand!
\n\tAnd guard in fierce temptation’s hour,
\n\tHide in the hollow of Thy hand,
\n\tShow firth in me Thy saving power
\n\tStill be Thy arms my sure defense,
\n\tNor earth nor hell shall pluck me thence.<\/p>\n
\t5. When darkness intercepts the skies
\n\tAnd sorrow’s waves around me roll,
\n\tWhen high he storms of passion rise,
\n\tAnd half o’erwhelm my sinking soul,
\n\tMy soul a sudden calm shall feel,
