1. I’ve found a friend, O such a friend!
\n\tChrist loved me ere I knew Him;
\n\tHe drew me with the cords of love,
\n\tAnd thus He bound me to Him;
\n\tAnd round my heart still closely twine
\n\tThose ties which naught can sever,
\n\tFor I am His, and Christ is mine,
\n\tForever and forever.<\/p>\n
\t2. I’ve found a friend, O such friend!
\n\tHe bled, He died to save me;
\n\tAnd not alone the gift of life,
\n\tBut His own self He gave me;
\n\tNaught that I have my own I call,
\n\tI hold it for the giver,
\n\tMy heart, my strength, my life, my all
\n\tAre His, and His forever.<\/p>\n
\t3. I’ve found a friend, O such friend!
\n\tAll power to Him is given,
\n\tTo guard me on my onward course,
\n\tAnd bring me safe to heaven:
\n\tTh’ eternal glories gleam afar
\n\tTo nerve my faint endeavour,
\n\tSo now to watch, to work, to war,
\n\tAnd them to rest forever.<\/p>\n

\n\tSo wise a counselor and guide,
