1. On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
\n\tthe emblem of suffering and shame;
\n\tand I love that old cross where the dearest and best
\n\tfor a world of lost sinners was slain.<\/p>\n

\tSo I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
\n\ttill my trophies at last I lay down;
\n\tI will cling to the old rugged cross,
\n\tand exchange it some day for a crown.<\/p>\n
\t2. O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
\n\thas a wondrous attraction for me;
\n\tfor the dear Lamb of God left his glory above
\n\tto bear it to dark Calvary<\/p>\n
\t3. In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
